During the month of July, the property tax system moves from the Equalization Phase to the Assessment Phase. The transition begins with the Chief Appraiser’s delivery of the certified appraisal roll to the taxing units. During the Assessment Phase, tax rates are adopted, levies are calculated and the Assessment Phase ends with the mailing of tax bills.
